2021 Nissan Armada Redesign: What’s Different?
The buzz can’t be stopped when it comes to the 2021 Nissan Armada redesign. The long-awaited changes to the new Armada set the bar high for full-sized SUVs from brands such as GMC and Ford. With major differences in all areas of the 2021 Nissan Armada, drivers can’t wait to get their hands on the upgraded version as soon as it hits showroom floors.
The first feature that will have buyers excited is the redesigned exterior. The Nissan Armada has always been based on the European version of the SUV, the Patrol. The more utilitarian and boxy look of the past Armadas mimics, almost exactly, the Nissan Patrol. That is changing in 2021. This year’s model has a lifted and sleeker look. Both the front and back ends have been changed to feature very different styling cues from the 2020 version.
It may look luxurious but the designers also want drivers to know that the new Armada is capable of rugged adventures. This SUV has it all for drivers who want it all. And if drivers want an even sleeker look they can upgrade to the Midnight edition for a completely blacked out appearance that adds to the luxurious feel of the SUV.
Interior Luxury Additions
The exterior isn’t the only thing that got upgraded on the 2021 Nissan Armada. The interior enjoyed an overhaul as well. With even more tech and luxury features, drivers will be lining up to take one of these new Armadas home. The first upgrade that needs to be mentioned is the new screen for the infotainment system. Many cars and SUVS come with 8- or 10-inch screens but the new Armada boasts a 12.3-inch screen with more intuitive controls to make navigating and using the system safer. The previous year’s model only had an 8-inch screen.
Since we are talking about technology, it is worth stating that one of the new standard features in the 2021 Nissan Armada is a WiFi hotspot as well as the ability to connect directly to your smartphone.
The interior is luxurious and spacious, something your passengers will enjoy. Whether it is the school carpool or your work carpool, they will look forward to your turn to drive. Some of the more notable interior features are:
- Leather interior
- Plentiful leg and headroom
- Rear plugs
Powertrain & Safety
We can’t forget about the powertrain because it gets some major upgrades for 2021. It is more powerful and has a greater towing capacity making it luxurious and functional. The engine size is the same, a 5.6-Liter with a V-8 but the 2021 Armada does have 400 horsepower where the 2020 version only has 390 horsepower.
Along with changes to the powertrain, there are also safety features that have been made standard. The large list of safety features the 2021 Armada enjoys is even more impressive than the previous year’s model. Many of these safety features are standard for all trim levels in 2021 such as:
- Forward collision warning
- Blind spot intervention
- Adaptive cruise control
