You may have missed the memo, but Nissan recently announced a new truck known as the Nissan Navara. While it won’t be available in US markets, it may give us clues as to what to expect from the redesigned 2021 Nissan Frontier.
Right now, not much is known about the upcoming 2021 Nissan Frontier. All we know is it’s going to take a sizable step forward from the stale, static models we’ve seen in recent years.
So what details are available about the Navara? Let’s take a look at Nissan’s not-so-subtle teaser about the potential future of the Frontier.
Taking a Look at the Nissan Navara
If the 2021 Nissan Frontier is anything like the Navara, US buyers should be very excited about what’s to come. The Frontier has been a staple in the trucking world for some time now, and it’s about to be reinvented in hopes of upping the competition with other top brands/models on the market.
For years, the Nissan Frontier’s exterior hasn’t received the facelift it so rightly deserved. If the Navara is any indication of what the future holds, we could finally see a new design that’ll usher the Frontier into a new (and welcomed) era.
The Navara’s exterior is fearsome and functional, featuring a menacing grille, powerful lines and a larger bed. Nissan also redid the suspension, providing drivers with a smoother, more off-road-friendly ride.
These days, safety features and driver-assistance technology reign supreme when it comes to deciding on your next purchase. As it so happens, the Navara will feature some of the most popular modern technology: automatic emergency braking, surround-view camera, forward-collision warning and more.
Again, it’s unclear if the 2021 Nissan Frontier will follow the same blueprint. With that said, the expectation is that the Frontier will be built on the Navara foundation.
The latest information indicates that the 2021 Nissan Frontier will feature a 3.8L V6 engine, whereas the Navara will be equipped with a four-cylinder diesel engine. Not much is known beyond that, so performance remains a question mark for the time being.
It’s clear that little information is available, and the price for the 2021 Nissan Frontier is no exception. The same goes for the Navara, which also has yet to have a price tag attached to it. Despite the uncertainty, the cost of the 2021 Nissan Frontier shouldn’t be too far off the mark from the starting price of the 2020 model, which was $27,855 MSRP.
As of right now, we’re still waiting for Nissan to release more details on the highly anticipated release of the 2021 Frontier. Until that time comes, though, we’re stuck speculating and looking at the Navara for hints about what the new model could look and feel like.
Sit tight, as more details are just around the corner with the redesigned Nissan Frontier set to hit showrooms across the US sometime in 2021.
